Description

In January of 2012 on the way to a buying trip I stopped off to see a dear friend in Australia who at 83 years young I think has more knowledge of sapphires than anyone else I know on the planet. He introduced me to a Sri Lankan dealer who showed me this sapphire.

Green sapphires have always been a fascination of mine as GOOD ones are a rare find. My opinion isthe only ywo spots to find them are eiether Ceylon (Sri Lanka) or Australia, as the African or Asian ones I've seen from other locales are generally a muddy green color.

This sapphire caught my eye because of its crisp green-blue-grey color that gives it that perfect mix of color, and was also well cut and eye clean in clarity as well. A truly superb specimen of green sapphire. This sapphire has been GIA certified as a Natural Green Sapphire.
