This exquisite vibrant orange pair of spessartites is expertly American faceted with round fancy and checkerboard cuts. The pair weighs a substantial 2.70 carats with each stone measuring 6.4 mm. This Nigerian pair displays prized fanta orange color with virtually no brown or red tones, has spectacular brilliance and is quite close to being eye-clean. Some thin and slight veils can be seen upon close inspection with a jeweler's loupe although they are nearly impossible to distinguish without the loupe due to the stone's brilliance. Acquiring fine quality large spessartite pairs has become increasingly difficult as the rough currently produced is almost completely void of the great fanta orange color that has gained this stone its notoriety. The spessartites are set in heavy four prong platinum stud earring mountings and come with certification from the facetor and are valued at $1579.
