Cushion Aquamarine Ceylon Sapphire Diamond Pendant 14KWG 2.64 ctw
It was a scramble to acquire as much of the new Madagascan aquamarine as I could. This relatively new find of top quality material was a welcomed relief to what seemed to be a depleted market. As quickly as it was found, it was sourced and now is just about depleted. Top quality large stones command the highest dollar unless you were lucky enough to access some of the pieces before news spread and prices rose dramatically. I was fortunate to obtain about 30 carats just as the initial rough was being cut. About half of these stones sold during the holidays and I am now just getting around to designing some more pieces. A beautiful 2.30 carat cushion cut Madagascan aquamarine (natural and unheated) in prong set and featured in this pendant with Ceylon sapphires and diamonds. The aqua is eye-clean, beautifully cut and has excellent rich aqua blue color. Surrounding the liquid aqua blue color are fourteen 1.50 mm round diamond cut AAA rated Ceylon sapphires that weigh 0.28 carats total. The diamond cutting delivers outstanding brilliance and these sapphires have ideal cornflower blue color and excellent clarity. Pave set into the pendant's bail is 0.06 carats total weight in diamonds that are SI1 G quality. The bail has a nice wide opening to accommodate a variety of chains.
