Most are surprised to discover that Paraiba in rare circumstances is found as a purple stone. In fact many of the very bright blue Paraibas are actually heated purple. This gorgeous 3.00 carat Mozambique purple Paraiba tourmaline is certified by the Gemological Institute of Thailand (cuprian or copper tourmaline). Exquisite rich purple color that is even throughout the stone places this piece amongst the finest. Excellent dealer rated VS clarity and an oval brilliant cut deliver vibrant flashes of purple and pink. Using a jeweler's loupe you will see some of the red copper needles and a few other colorless feather type inclusions. The tourmaline is prong set in a heavy Victorian era inspired ring with fancy scroll work and double milgrain edges. A sparkling halo of pave set round brilliant diamonds surrounds the rich purple color. A total of 0.50 carats of round brilliant diamonds are expertly set in 7.2 grams of 14K white gold. The diamonds are SI1 H quality and the ring is a size 7 (resizing available).
