Description
Displaying wonderful rich royal blue color is an oval brilliant cut Ceylon sapphire that weighs 2.06 carats and measures 7.7 X 5.9 mm. Traditionally set in a four prong basket setting the sapphire is offered maximum light exposure to ensure that the stone's excellent clarity, cut and color deliver maximum brilliance.
This fine quality sapphire exhibits outstanding royal blue color with excellent luster and tone and lively cobalt blue brilliance noted throughout. On each side of the sapphire are six round brilliant precision cut diamonds for 0.30 carats total diamond weight. These gorgeous white and brilliant diamonds are rated SI2 clarity (eye-clean) and have a top color grade of F (very bright white)! Approximately 7.0 grams of 950 platinum was used to make this traditionally styled ring with a design that results in elegant symmetry and lovely fine gold lines. The ring is a size 7 (re-sizing available).
This custom one of a kind piece was designed by Jill Underhill of Color Symphony (http://www.colorsymphony.com) and will be shipped directly from their location in New Hampshire. Complimentary shipping and resizing is included in the price.
This gemstone (or gemstone that is part of this piece of gemstone jewelry) has been enhanced by traditional heat treatment. Traditional heat treatment is used to improve a stones color, remove color zoning/banding, and improve clarity. This treatment is considered permanent. The only way to tell if a colored stone has been treated is for the stone to be analyzed by a lab. Generally only gemstone laboratories have the equipment necessary to make a qualified judgement with any certainty.
Untreated gemstones are rare and should be verified by a lab independent of the seller. A good rule of thumb is to always assume a gemstone has been enhanced, unless valid certification from a reputable laboratory is available. No one that sells jewelry or gems should be doing appraisals, certifications, or analysis. It should always be an independent third party with no vested interest in the sale.
