Description

The Santa Maria mine is recognized around the world for producing the highest quality aquamarine. Aquamarine from this locale has rich aqua color which is a rarity for this type of gemstone. Beautifully set in pave diamond and milgrain halo earring mounts is a pair of round brilliant faceted Santa Maria aquas(natural and heated) that are 5.0 X 3.4 mm and weigh 1.05 carats total. This pair displays top rich aqua color with little or no secondary hue, has excellent clarity, gorgeous faceting and top of the line bright blue brilliance. There is 0.30 carats total weight in round brilliant diamonds that surround the aquas in a halo that is accented with milgrain/beaded edges. The diamonds are SI1 GH quality. The earrings feature post backs for pierced ears and weigh an estimated 4.2 grams.

      Oiling/Resin Infusion: The filling of surface-breaking fissures with colorless oil, wax, resin or other colorless substances, except glass or plastic, to improve the gemstone’s appearance.   I1-Significant inclusions,Moderate effect on appearance or durability
  Type III-Gemstones Almost always included   Waxing/Oiling: The impregnation of a colorless wax, paraffin or oil in porous opaque or translucent gemstones to improve appearance.   I2-Significant inclusions,Severe effect on appearance or durability
  Examples- Bixbite, Emerald, Red, Pink or Watermelon Tourmaline   Filling: The filling of surface-breaking cavities or fissures with colorless glass, plastic, or similar substances.This process may improve durability and/or appearance, and/or to add weight.    
      Diffusion: The use of chemicals in conjunction with high temperatures to produce ARTIFICIAL color change and/or asterism-producing inclusions.    
      Coating: The use of such surface enhancements as lacquering, enameling, inking, foiling or sputtering of films to improve appearance, provide color or add other special effects.
