Green sapphire has always been a personal favorite of mine, but finding them is easier said then done. Many are muddy green in color and lack any sparkle, but when I saw this stone that was originally found in Madagascar, I knew it had potential.
It started out as a 6.5 carat cushion cut with a small chip in the girdle (the girdle is The edge formed where the top (crown) and bottom (pavilion) of a stone meet.);as you can see from some of the pictures, but it lacked any brilliance and the true potential of its color didn't show through.
We decided to recut itto a stunning 4.87 carat radiant emerald cut and you can see both the brilliance and the color are now amplified. It's truly a stunning sapphire. It literally took this stone to a Cinderalla status
