Unheated Burma Blue Star Sapphire - 43.5 Cts - 23.8x17.3x9.1mm
Finding unheated star sapphires is quite a task these days. Most star sapphire rough (only about 1 in 100 stones will have what it takes to become a star sapphire) into the cutting shops in Asia (mostly India and Thailand) for cabbing and are generally diffused with a color or star to make them look more like the real thing.
This star sapphire is the real thing, its color and star are 100% natural. And its huge, over 43 carats in weight. It's one of the largest blue star sapphires from Burma we've found. We found it way back in the 1990's at a cutting house in Thailand. Bountiful 6 point star, deep rich sharp denim blue gray color on its majestic opaque body, what an outstanding stone.
