Description

Every so often a new supplier will contact us regarding some new stones he has, as the gemstone community is still rather a small place. They”ll find us through the internet, or more than likely a mutual acquaintance.

About 5 years ago a gentleman contacted me regarding some UNHEATED ruby he had mined and faceted (they had a small family owned operation with about a dozen employees total). I was interested but cautious as so much of the ruby available on the market has beem heavily treated beyond the norms of simple heat. Indian ruby is generally a cloudy darker red than its Burmese or Thai counterparts but I was still interested.

We made a deal, that I would purchase it with the condition that I get it examined and certified by the GIA gem lab in New York. All the pieces passed with flying colors as untreated natural rubies.

Along with mining for the ruby, they also came across these Star Sapphire. I immediately was interested as these showed a rich deep Blue color with a Plum undertone to them, and contain exceptional stars, these also were untreated natural Star Sapphires, Opaque in clarity, and perfect for a mens ring or a ladies ring

pendant.
