Description

One of the most popular fancy cuts is the Portuguese cut which may be done on round or oval stones. This type of cutting along the stone’s pavilion or belly results in a spectacular pattern of brilliance which sends forth sparks and flashes of electric color.

This large Mozambique Paraiba tourmaline sports a Portuguese roval brilliant cut which is a cross between an oval and round stone. The Paraiba weighs 4.18 carats, measures 9.8 X 9.1 X 6.2 mm, has excellent near loupe clean clarity and the desirable blue and green color. The color is predominantly blue but also has secondary green and lilac hues. Prong set the tourmaline is afforded ample light to showcase the skilled faceting and extraordinary brilliance.

Complimenting the bright blue/green stone is 1.25 carats of hand-set pave round brilliant diamonds that line the ring’s shoulders and under-gallery. These diamonds are bright, white clean and brilliant (SI1 H grades). The ring weighs a substantial 8.5 grams of 14K white gold and is a size 7 1/4. Please request resizing on your order form.
